Our Staff
York and North Yorkshire Probation Trust is a great place to work.
Staff are the York and North Yorkshire Probation Trust’s greatest asset, and the Board ensures, as much as is possible, that we have the right staff, in the right place, doing the right things.
The workforce profile as at 31 March 2011 showed that 242 staff were employed by the Board. Of these,30.17% were male and 69.83% female. Of staff that declared their disability, 11.98% were registered disabled. The highest percentage of age representation was the 41-50 year old bracket, whichrepresented 27.27% of all employees.
We offer a range of excellent staff benefits, including flexible working and the local government pension scheme. We aim to employ a workforce that reflects the diverse communities of York and North Yorkshire and are an Equal Opportunities employer.
We believe strongly in learning and development and considerable resources and time go into training employees and developing practice. There was significant investment over the year with real emphasis placed on both skills training to ensure probation staff skills were maintained, together with an emphasis on leadership and management development.
